Olaszrizling Wine from Hungary

Olaszrizling, known internationally as Welschriesling, is one of Hungary’s most widely planted white grapes. Despite the name, it is not the same variety as Riesling. It is especially important around Lake Balaton, where it can produce fresh, savoury and mineral wines with citrus, herbs and a subtle almond-like finish.

Styles range from easy-drinking everyday whites to complex, site-driven wines from volcanic and limestone soils.
