Four celebrated grape varieties. One distinctive Hungarian red.

From the historic wine region of Szekszárd, Németh János SERIUS Cuvée 2021 brings together Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot and Syrah in an ambitious, full-bodied red blend.

Rich, structured and beautifully layered, SERIUS offers a compelling alternative to familiar Bordeaux-style reds, combining international grape varieties with the individual character of Hungarian winemaking.

In the glass

SERIUS is a generous, full-flavoured red with a rich, structured character. Dark-fruit notes, warming oak spice and a lingering finish create an inviting profile for lovers of powerful, complex wines.

Maturation in first-fill oak barrels adds another dimension, bringing depth and richness to the blend while complementing its generous fruit character.

A wine to savour slowly, allowing its layers to reveal themselves with every glass.

Why it’s special

Four grapes, one carefully crafted expression of Szekszárd.

Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc provide the foundation of this blend, while Merlot and Syrah bring their own character to the final wine.

The 2021 vintage was reportedly matured for 16 months in first-fill oak barrels, a substantial investment in time and craftsmanship that sets SERIUS apart from everyday red blends.

The result is a distinctive Hungarian interpretation of a classic international red blend, offering the richness and complexity that make Szekszárd an exciting region to explore.

Perfect with

SERIUS deserves a place at the table alongside equally flavourful food.

Pair it with slow-braised beef, rosemary-roasted lamb, venison or a rich wild mushroom casserole. Its full-bodied character also makes it an excellent choice for a traditional Sunday roast or a special dinner with friends.

For the best experience, serve at approximately 16–18°C.
