A rich, complex 6 Puttonyos Tokaji Aszú, lifted by the naturally vibrant acidity of Tokaj.
Pelle Tokaji Aszú 6 Puttonyos 2019 opens with a generous spectrum of dried fruit, apricot and mango. The palate is rich and sweet, yet the wine retains freshness and balance through its natural acidity, leading to a long, complex finish.
The story behind the wine
Botrytised berries were collected from late September to mid-October 2019. After collection, the berries were soaked in fermenting wine for around 24 hours, then pressed, settled and fermented. The wine was spontaneously fermented and aged in 300-litre Zemplén oak.
Why Beyond Tokaj chose it
Because 6 Puttonyos Aszú represents one of Tokaj’s great historic sweet-wine traditions. This bottle combines extraordinary richness with the acidity and length that make great Tokaji Aszú so distinctive.
