A forgotten Hungarian red-wine tradition, returning to the glass.
Budai Vörös 2024 from Szentesi Pince brings together two historic Hungarian varieties, Csókaszőlő and Kadarka. It is fresh, juicy and distinctly spicy, with vibrant acidity and an easy, characterful style.
In the glass
Expect fresh red berries including cherry, sour cherry and redcurrant, followed by white pepper, gentle paprika-like spice, dried floral notes and subtle earthy, herbal layers. Medium-bodied with crisp acidity and soft tannins.
Why it’s special
Budai Vörös represents a long-forgotten Hungarian wine style that is beginning to reappear around Etyek. This bottling combines freshness and drinkability with the distinctive spice of Kadarka and the character of Csókaszőlő.
