A beautifully refined Kadarka from Eger, combining ripe fruit, warm spice and silky structure.

Bright ruby in colour and quick to open, this expressive 2023 Kadarka reveals deep aromas of clove, cinnamon and a touch of vanilla, followed by sour-cherry and blackberry-jam fruit.

In the glass

The first sip is lively and fresh, with well-judged acidity followed by fine, ripe tannins. For Kadarka it is notably full and substantial, while remaining finely balanced. Oak spice, anise and tobacco add complexity to the ripe fruit, creating a detailed, warming and characterful red.

Why it’s special

Made entirely from Kadarka grown in Eger’s Almagyar vineyard, with yields restricted in the vineyard. The wine was fermented traditionally in open-top vats and hand-punched down for 10 days, then matured for one year in second- and third-fill barrels. Only 2,080 bottles were produced.

Perfect with

Especially well suited to Hungarian fish soup (halászlé), lecsó and other paprika-rich dishes.
